The Nest Provision
In October 2024, we unveiled our brand new Nest room which we had built over the October half term.
The children in the nest benefit from higher staffing ratios to keep the children safe and to ensure their needs are met. Staff are trained in how to support children's sensory processing and children are in a safe, calming and nurturing environment. We take time with each child, each to work towards their Targeted Learning Plans to give them the best possible start in their educational journey. As a team we treat each child as an individual and know the importance of following the child's interests, ways of learning and pace.
The importance of our environment
Vicky Vass (SEN Room Leader) - Our environment is so important to our children and their development. The environment is set out to ensure children have access to everything they need while producing a calming and nurturing environment, ensuring the children show signs of high level of involvement in their play. Large physical movements are catered for on the soft play and trampoline which is loved by all our child and always in use! They have access to sensory room which is also loved to help calm children and give them a safe space to investigate and relax. The children have access to loads of building resources, water and sand which the children love to scoop, fill and pour building muscles and fulfilling important schemas. We have lots of areas for our children to be comfortable and cozy in if they want to take some to themselves or with a friend!
